L. A. Girl Pro. Coverage Long Wear HD Illuminting Foundation Review & Comparison With MUFE Ultra HD.

Hey, everyone!

Foundation reviews has somewhat appeared to have come like buses here on the blog. You wait ages for one to arrive, then two come at once. I have one from L.A. Girl this time which also has a ridiculously long name. This was also purchased from the Black Friday offers last year which now seems a very long distance memory. When I first caught sight of the L.A. Girl Pro. Coverage Long Wear HD Illuminating Foundation (Try saying that when you've had a few!) I thought that the bottle looked very similar to the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD which I love. Plus, it gave the impression that it'd be a really nice foundation to use. So I decided to get it.

Milani Conceal & Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer : Review

milani conceal + perfect 2 in 1 foundation & concealer review

Hi, everyone!

My goodness! Doesn't this foundation have a long title? During the Winter season, I like to cover up my skin with thicker formulas so it gives me extra protection from the cold and wind, and to also prevent the onset of redness going on, on my cheek area. The Milani Conceal & Perfect 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer has been my go-to product, on and off since Christmas. I'd heard so many good things about this foundation and with the price tag only costing around £8.80 at the time of purchase, due to the Black Friday offers that was on last year, (although the original price has increased to £11.00 - damn you, Beauty Bay!) it wasn't too long before one had slipped into my basket.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8 - Hour Powder Highlighter | Sin & Fireball : Review & Swatches

urban decay afterglow highlighter in sin and fireball

Hey everyone!
(Word of warning: this is a rather photo laden post!)

If you're a huge fan of the highlighter but hate glittery formulas, I think you're going to love these!  With a choice of 3 shades - Sin, Fireball and Aura,  you can create a luxurious radiant strobe effect or simply plump your cheeks, with formulas that can be applied either sheer or as intense as you wanna go! Urban Decay claim these Afterglow 8 - Hour Powder Highlighters isn't just average highlighter and I have to agree. The difficult thing is, which one do you choose? I say "have all three!"

Skincare Empties: Featuring Elemis, Ren, The Ordinary and more...

Hi, everyone!

Once, again, my little empties bag was beginning to overflow. So, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a clear-out and start the new year with an empties post!

The Body Shop | Shade Adjusting Drops

Hey, everyone!

You may remember several months ago, I wrote a post sharing my frustration with the lack of foundation samples readily available at our beauty counters - or anywhere else for that matter, which makes finding the right shade a really tough challenge. Let's face it - we've all done it. You've bought what seemed to be the right shade, only to discover when you get home a reflection of an Oompa Loompa is staring back at you in the mirror, rather than the girl in the advert. So, when I'd heard from one of my MUA friends that The Body Shop had provided the ideal solution - The Shade Adjusting Drops to help lighten the shade of any foundation, I thought " Great! But, I wonder if it really works?"

Reflecting Back on 2016 & Blogging Goals For The Year Ahead!

blogging goals for sheer gloss beauty blog

Hey, everyone!

I can't quite believe I've been regularly posting my little thoughts on this beauty blog for a little over a year now. Blogging has been such a MASSIVE learning curve for me and I have no doubt 2017 will continue to prove this otherwise. For something that started out just as a bit of fun and something to do during my spare time, I had no idea I would end the year having gained some confidence and feel I've accomplished something I never dreamed of doing - not in a million years, and totally learn from scratch! But I'd be lying to if I said my journey has been all rainbows and kittens! As there have been many occasions when I've lost that self belief and wondered "what the hell am I doing?" But, I've put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this blog and managed to stick with it, which resulted in seeing my blog grow - especially during the second half of the year where I reached my target a lot earlier than expected. Hard work really does pay off! But more needs to be done.

And of course, more importantly, YOU, my followers, by choosing and allowing me into your lives like some beauty friend who lives across the street (sorry if this sounds a bit soppy!) and thoroughly enjoyed our little chit-chats on Instagram. You have no idea how much this means to me, so, thank you for that.

Boxing Day Beauty Buys

boxing day beauty buys

 Hey everyone!

These buys very nearly didn't happen! For the last few years, I've learnt to wait until the Boxing day mark downs start, when Boots generally price all their Christmas gifts to half-price, including their Soap & Glory range. I generally only buy the minis, as they are great for packing as they don't take up much room, making it ideal for travelling and for short stopovers. But this year, I really couldn't be bothered! It was too cold to leave the house and venture into town, plus, I received quite a few beauty bits at Christmas and didn't really feel the need to buy anything.

Beauty Favourites for 2016

Happy New Year!

Oh - my - god! This list was such a difficult one to put together. It just grew and grew!!! I nearly scrapped it! I have truly enjoyed so many products this year! But, amongst all that shimmer and glimmer, I think for me, skincare products proved to be the biggest players when it came to making a difference during my beauty journey this year! I had some skin issues that I wanted to address. And whilst I wouldn't exactly say I've eradicated them all, they've certainly made a huge difference in how my skin behaves. What I've also featured is just a few makeup products (otherwise we'd be here all day!) that really hit the mark when it comes to suitability for my skin type and tone.

Now, despite being a huge palette junkie, none are featured here because it was just too difficult to choose as I rotate them quite a lot!
